Which Electric Vehicle Brand Has the Best Range?

When it comes to electric vehicles, range is an important factor to consider. With so many different models and brands on the market, it can be difficult to determine which one has the best range. To help you make an informed decision, we've compiled a list of the 10 electric cars with the longest range. The Mercedes EQS 450+ AMG Line has the longest range of all electric cars, with an impressive 453 miles.

Tesla's Model S twin-engine, all-wheel drive comes in second with a range of 405 miles. BMW's iX xDrive 50 and Ford's Mustang Mach E both have a range of 380 miles. The BMW i4 eDrive 40 has a range of 365 miles, while the long-range Tesla Model 3 has a range of 374 miles. The Tesla Model X twin-engine, four-wheel drive has a range of 348 miles.

The Audi e-tron is available as an SUV or Sportback and offers typical Audi refinement in a gas-free package. It has two electric motors that produce a maximum of 402 horsepower and can reach 60 miles per hour in the low five-second range. During tests, it was able to travel 190 miles on the road, 32 fewer than announced. The Audi e-tron is available in two different power levels that don't affect its range much.

The e-tron GTs from Audi use an 800 volt architecture, such as that found in the Porsche Taycan, to minimize the load when connected to direct current fast chargers. The 522 hp e-tron GT has the longest range at 238 miles estimated by the EPA (the highest-range e-tron GT currently available). The 637 hp RS e-tron GT we recently tested exceeded its range estimated by the EPA during our 75 mph road route with 240 miles on a single charge. It also reached 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars we've ever tested.

The Rivian R1T was the first electric van to reach customers and has an all-wheel drive system as well as three 110-volt outlets and an air compressor mounted inside its box. The Launch Edition version with a 135.0 kWh battery has an EPA estimated range of 314 miles. During our own road tests at 75 miles per hour, it reached just 220 miles. Rivian's nascent Adventure Network aims to bring fast DC charging to more remote locations and it is also the fastest truck we've ever tested, with an incredible jump to 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. The Rivian R1S has the same powertrain as the R1T station wagon and was given an additional two mile range by the EPA even though it performed worse than the R1T in terms of combined MPGe, in the city and on the highway.

It uses the same 135.0 kWh battery as the van and its range and off-road environment give it an advantage over other fully electric SUVs, such as the Audi e-tron.The Volkswagen ID4 comes with rear-wheel drive as standard and 201 horsepower (the basic rear-wheel drive Pro also offers the longest range of this VW electric car, with 275 miles according to the EPA). All-wheel drive models have 302 horsepower.
